Privacy and data use
What this tool does
The Community EcoMath Explorer supports educational investigation of environmental issues through mathematics. It does not require an account and is not intended to collect research data.
Photographs
A photograph selected in the tool is processed locally in your browser. The tool creates a resized copy without the original file metadata. It does not upload or permanently store the photograph.
Your entries
Counts, model settings and written responses remain in the current browser session. They are not sent to a database and disappear when the page is refreshed or closed.
What not to include
Do not use photographs containing recognizable faces, names, addresses, vehicle plates, school records or other private information. Learners should follow the guidance of their teacher, school and community when documenting environmental concerns.
Research use
This public version should not be used to collect information for research. Any future research version will require separate consent, ethics review and data-management arrangements.
Hosting records
Like most websites, the hosting provider may process limited technical records needed to deliver and secure the site, such as an IP address, browser information and request time. The educational tool itself does not use analytics, advertising trackers or third-party AI services.
